Cell Phone Permit

Cell Phone Permit is "Driver’s Ed" for the digital age - a practical program that equips kids with the judgment, confidence, and real-world skills to navigate smartphones, social media, gaming, and the internet safely, avoid digital dangers, and use technology as a tool for growth and opportunity.

At GUARD, we approach digital safety through the lens of exploitation prevention. Online grooming, coercion, sextortion, and predatory recruitment often exploit gaps in supervision, awareness, or maturity. Because risk exposure changes as children grow, effective prevention must evolve with them.

  • For younger children, layered monitoring tools like Bark provide critical oversight, early detection of concerning behaviors, and protective guardrails during high-risk developmental stages.

  • For older youth, structured education programs like Cell Phone Permit help build the judgment, digital literacy, and self-regulation necessary to recognize manipulation, resist coercion, and navigate online environments with greater independence and resilience.

*GUARD does not endorse a single solution. We believe prevention is most effective when parents are empowered with informed options and can align their approach with their child’s age, maturity, and vulnerability profile.
